Wholesale oils gain up to Rs 100 a quintal
RBD Palm Oil NEW DELHI: Edible oils continued their upward journey and prices were up by Rs 100 a quintal in the national capital on Thursday largely on the back of firming outside advices and firming US dollar against rupee.Mustard expeller oil prices climbed Rs 100 at Rs 6,200 per quintal. Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils followed suit and prices were up by Rs 5 each at Rs 890-960 and Rs 930-1005 per tin respectively.Palmoline (RBD) oil prices were up by Rs 50 at Rs 5,850 per quintal while crude palm oil (ex-Kandla) rose Rs 40 at Rs 5,040 a quintal.Traders said apart from firming trends at global markets, depreciating rupee against the US dollar also pushed prices higher."Rising imports cost of edible oils due to strengthening US dollar against rupee, attributed rise in edible oil prices", said a wholesale oil trader.Cottonseed mill delivery oil prices also moved up by Rs 50 at Rs 5,800 per quintal. Rice bran (physical) oil prices were up by Rs 100 at Rs 5050 a quintal on increased demand from retailers. – PTI
